### sec.77 Disposal of voluntary assisted dying substance by administering practitioner
Subsections (2) and (3) apply if—
a person who has made a practitioner administration decision revokes the decision; and
the administering practitioner for the person has possession of the voluntary assisted dying substance when the decision is revoked.
The administering practitioner is authorised to—
possess the voluntary assisted dying substance for the purpose of disposing of it; and
dispose of the substance.
The administering practitioner must dispose of the voluntary assisted dying substance as soon as practicable after the practitioner administration decision is revoked.
Subsections (5) and (6) apply if—
a person who has made a practitioner administration decision dies (whether or not after being administered the voluntary assisted dying substance); and
the administering practitioner for the person has possession of any unused or remaining substance.
The administering practitioner is authorised to—
possess the unused or remaining substance for the purpose of disposing of it; and
dispose of the unused or remaining substance.
The administering practitioner must dispose of the unused or remaining substance as soon as practicable after the person’s death.
