### sec.199 Definition of act of violence
New section 25 applies in relation to an act of violence that is domestic violence only if the domestic violence is committed on or after the commencement.
However, subsection (3) applies if—
a person dies or suffers injury as a direct result of 2 or more acts or omissions constituting domestic violence; and
at least 1 of the acts or omissions was committed before the commencement; and
at least 1 of the acts or omissions is committed on or after the commencement; and
had all of the acts or omissions been committed after the commencement, all of the acts or omissions would have formed part of a series of related acts of domestic violence under new section 25B.
All of the acts or omissions are taken to be a series of related acts of domestic violence.
Under section 204, the availability of financial assistance for an act of violence that is a series of related acts of domestic violence to which subsection (3) applies is limited to expenses incurred on or after the commencement.

(sec.199-ssec.3) All of the acts or omissions are taken to be a series of related acts of domestic violence. - (a) a person dies or suffers injury as a direct result of 2 or more acts or omissions constituting domestic violence; and
- (b) at least 1 of the acts or omissions was committed before the commencement; and
- (c) at least 1 of the acts or omissions is committed on or after the commencement; and
- (d) had all of the acts or omissions been committed after the commencement, all of the acts or omissions would have formed part of a series of related acts of domestic violence under new section 25B.
