### sec.9 Powers of council
The council may do anything necessary or convenient to be done for, or in connection with, its functions.
Without limiting subsection (1) , the council has the powers given to it under this or another Act and, in particular—
to appoint the university’s staff; and
to manage and control the university’s affairs and property; and
to manage and control the university’s finances.
