### sec.31 Deputy chancellor There is a deputy chancellor of the university. The council must elect a member as deputy chancellor whenever there is a vacancy in the office. The deputy chancellor holds office for the term, not longer than 4 years, fixed by the council. The deputy chancellor is to act as chancellor— during a vacancy in the office of chancellor; and during all periods when the chancellor is absent from duty or, for another reason, can not perform the functions of the office. s 31 amd 2005 No. 18 s 131 ; 2017 No. 36 s 77 (sec.31-ssec.1) There is a deputy chancellor of the university.
