### sec.70 Notice to install or remove an official traffic sign
If, in the opinion of the chief executive, an official traffic sign should be installed on, or removed from, any road in an area which is not a declared road, the chief executive may serve notice on the local government for such area specifying the nature of the official traffic sign required to be installed or removed and the location at or from which such official traffic sign shall be installed or removed.
The notice shall specify a date not less than 14 days from the date of service of the notice on or before which the installation or removal of the official traffic sign specified shall be completed.
If the local government does not comply with the terms of the notice within the time specified, the chief executive may install or remove the official traffic sign specified in the notice and recover any cost and expense incurred by the chief executive in so doing from the local government.
