### sec.36 Power to require vehicle inspections
If an authorised officer reasonably believes a vehicle may not comply with this Act, the officer may require its owner or registered operator to have it inspected at a stated reasonable time and place.
The requirement—
must be made by notice in the approved form; or
if for any reason it is not practicable to give the notice—may be made orally and confirmed by notice in the approved form as soon as practicable.
A person must comply with a requirement under subsection (1) , unless the person has a reasonable excuse.
Maximum penalty for subsection (3) —60 penalty units.
