### sec.180 Consent to entry
This section applies if a shipping inspector intends to seek the consent of an occupier of a place to the entry of the place by the inspector under this part.
Before seeking the consent, the inspector may inform the occupier that the occupier may refuse to give the consent.
If the consent is given, the inspector may ask the occupier to sign an acknowledgement of the consent.
The acknowledgement must—
state the occupier was informed of the occupier’s right to refuse to give the consent; and
state the occupier gave the inspector consent under this part—
to enter the place; and
to exercise the powers mentioned in section 167 ; and
specify the time and date when the consent was given.
(sec.180-ssec.1) This section applies if a shipping inspector intends to seek the consent of an occupier of a place to the entry of the place by the inspector under this part.
(sec.180-ssec.2) Before seeking the consent, the inspector may inform the occupier that the occupier may refuse to give the consent.
(sec.180-ssec.3) If the consent is given, the inspector may ask the occupier to sign an acknowledgement of the consent.
(sec.180-ssec.4) The acknowledgement must— state the occupier was informed of the occupier’s right to refuse to give the consent; and state the occupier gave the inspector consent under this part— to enter the place; and to exercise the powers mentioned in section 167 ; and specify the time and date when the consent was given.
- (a) state the occupier was informed of the occupier’s right to refuse to give the consent; and
- (b) state the occupier gave the inspector consent under this part— (i) to enter the place; and (ii) to exercise the powers mentioned in section 167 ; and
- (i) to enter the place; and
- (ii) to exercise the powers mentioned in section 167 ; and
- (c) specify the time and date when the consent was given.
