### sec.17 Investigations about eligibility for appointment
The chief executive may make investigations about a person included in the panel of nominees to decide whether the person is eligible for appointment to the board.
Without limiting subsection (1) , the chief executive may ask the commissioner of the police service for a written report about the criminal history of the person.
The commissioner must give the report to the chief executive.
However, the report is required to contain only criminal history in the commissioner’s possession or to which the commissioner has access.
(sec.17-ssec.1) The chief executive may make investigations about a person included in the panel of nominees to decide whether the person is eligible for appointment to the board.
