### sec.17 New boundaries
Information derived from an existing survey, whether or not made for cadastral purposes, may be used by a cadastral surveyor in defining a boundary.
However, the cadastral surveyor is responsible for—
the accuracy of the information used; and
the adequacy of the survey marks used for the survey.
(sec.17-ssec.1) Information derived from an existing survey, whether or not made for cadastral purposes, may be used by a cadastral surveyor in defining a boundary.
