### sec.55 Surveyor’s obligation
If a surveyor intends carrying out a survey the surveyor considers, or should reasonably consider, is of value for a survey and mapping infrastructure purpose, the surveyor must give the chief executive written notice—
stating the surveyor’s intention to carry out the survey; and
asking the chief executive for advice about—
any specifications for the survey required by the chief executive for a survey and mapping infrastructure purpose (the required specifications ); and
any contribution the chief executive agrees to make towards the cost of the survey (the agreed contribution ); and
stating enough information about the survey to enable the chief executive to make a decision about the required specifications and agreed contribution.
As soon as practicable after receiving the notice, the chief executive must, in writing, give the surveyor the advice requested.
The surveyor must comply with the required specifications in carrying out the survey.
If the surveyor complies with the required specifications in carrying out the survey, the chief executive must make the agreed contribution for the survey.

- (b) asking the chief executive for advice about— (i) any specifications for the survey required by the chief executive for a survey and mapping infrastructure purpose (the required specifications ); and (ii) any contribution the chief executive agrees to make towards the cost of the survey (the agreed contribution ); and
- (i) any specifications for the survey required by the chief executive for a survey and mapping infrastructure purpose (the required specifications ); and
- (ii) any contribution the chief executive agrees to make towards the cost of the survey (the agreed contribution ); and
- (c) stating enough information about the survey to enable the chief executive to make a decision about the required specifications and agreed contribution.
