### sec.17 Resolving inconsistencies between plans of survey
This section applies if—
there is an inconsistency in the identification of a boundary shown on 2 or more plans of survey registered, lodged for registration, or deposited, under the Land Act 1994 or Land Title Act 1994 or given to the chief executive under section 16 ; and
the surveyors responsible for carrying out the surveys are aware of the inconsistency.
The surveyors must make reasonable efforts to resolve the inconsistency.
If the surveyors fail to comply with subsection (2) or are not able to resolve the inconsistency, the relevant person may take the reasonable action the relevant person considers necessary to resolve the matter.
In this section—
relevant person means—
for a plan of survey registered, lodged for registration, or deposited under the Land Act 1994 or the Land Title Act 1994 —the registrar of titles; or
for a plan not mentioned in paragraph (a) and given to the chief executive under section 16 —the chief executive.
