### sec.54 Central Region
One of the judges of the court must be called the Central Judge.
The Governor in Council may, by commission, appoint a judge of the Trial Division to be the Central Judge.
A judge may be appointed as the Central Judge when appointed as a judge or at any time afterwards.
The Central Judge must reside in the Central Region.
Sittings of the Trial Division must be held within the Central Region.
Subject to sections 15 and 51 , the Central Judge is responsible for the orderly and expeditious exercise within the Central Region of the jurisdiction of the court in the Trial Division.

To the extent necessary or convenient for the exercise of the court’s jurisdiction in the Central Region, a reference to Brisbane in any Act relating to the court, including a reference to a thing being done at Brisbane, is taken, if otherwise appropriate, to be a reference to Rockhampton.
