### sec.245 Appointment conditions and limit on powers
An authorised person holds office on any conditions stated in—
the authorised person’s instrument of appointment; or
a signed notice given to the authorised person; or
a regulation.
The instrument of appointment, a signed notice given to the authorised person or a regulation may limit the authorised person’s powers under this Act.
Also, an authorised person appointed by the chief executive officer of a local government may exercise the authorised person’s powers only in relation to the local government’s area.
In this section—
signed notice means a notice signed by the chief executive or chief executive officer of a local government.

(sec.245-ssec.1) An authorised person holds office on any conditions stated in— the authorised person’s instrument of appointment; or a signed notice given to the authorised person; or a regulation.
(sec.245-ssec.2) The instrument of appointment, a signed notice given to the authorised person or a regulation may limit the authorised person’s powers under this Act.
(sec.245-ssec.3) Also, an authorised person appointed by the chief executive officer of a local government may exercise the authorised person’s powers only in relation to the local government’s area.
(sec.245-ssec.4) In this section— signed notice means a notice signed by the chief executive or chief executive officer of a local government.
- (a) the authorised person’s instrument of appointment; or
- (b) a signed notice given to the authorised person; or
- (c) a regulation.
