### sec.54 When subordinate legislation expires
Subordinate legislation expires on 1 September first occurring after the 10th anniversary of the day of its making unless—
it is sooner repealed or expires; or
a regulation is made exempting it from expiry.
Sections 56 and 56A specify the subordinate legislation that may be exempted from expiry, and how long the exemption lasts.
Subordinate legislation exempted from expiry under a regulation under this Act expires when the exemption ends.
