### sec.54 Appointment of former authorised rescue officer as new authorised rescue officer This section applies if— a former authorised rescue officer was appointed before the commencement; and the appointment was in effect immediately before the commencement. On the commencement, the former authorised rescue officer is taken to be appointed as an authorised rescue officer under section 28. In this section— former authorised rescue officer means an authorised rescue officer appointed under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990 , former section 148. (sec.54-ssec.1) This section applies if— a former authorised rescue officer was appointed before the commencement; and the appointment was in effect immediately before the commencement. (sec.54-ssec.2) On the commencement, the former authorised rescue officer is taken to be appointed as an authorised rescue officer under section 28. (sec.54-ssec.3) In this section— former authorised rescue officer means an authorised rescue officer appointed under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990 , former section 148. - (a) a former authorised rescue officer was appointed before the commencement; and - (b) the appointment was in effect immediately before the commencement.
