### sec.28 Appointment
The commissioner may appoint any of the following persons as an authorised rescue officer—
an SES member;
a person who performs a function similar to an emergency-related SES function under a law of another State or country;
a member of a class of persons prescribed by a regulation.
However, the commissioner may appoint a person as an authorised rescue officer only if satisfied the person has the necessary expertise or experience to be an authorised rescue officer.
(sec.28-ssec.1) The commissioner may appoint any of the following persons as an authorised rescue officer— an SES member; a person who performs a function similar to an emergency-related SES function under a law of another State or country; a member of a class of persons prescribed by a regulation.
(sec.28-ssec.2) However, the commissioner may appoint a person as an authorised rescue officer only if satisfied the person has the necessary expertise or experience to be an authorised rescue officer.
- (a) an SES member;
- (b) a person who performs a function similar to an emergency-related SES function under a law of another State or country;
- (c) a member of a class of persons prescribed by a regulation.
