### sec.19 Terms and ending of appointments This section applies to a person’s appointment to the office of member of the board or chairperson or deputy chairperson of the board. For matters not provided for under this Act, the person holds the office on the terms of appointment decided by the responsible Ministers. Except as decided by the responsible Ministers, the person is not entitled to receive any payment, any interest in property or other valuable consideration or benefit— by way of remuneration as holder of the office; or in connection with retirement from the office or other ending of the office. The responsible Ministers may, at any time, end the appointment for any reason or none. The person may resign the office by giving a signed notice of resignation to the responsible Ministers at least the required period before the notice is to take effect. The appointment ends if the person becomes someone who, under section 16 (3) , may not be appointed as a member. A person’s appointment as member of the board does not end only because the person’s appointment as chairperson or deputy chairperson of the board has ended. In this section— required period means the period stated in the appointment or otherwise agreed with the responsible Ministers. s 19 amd 2012 No. 39 s 102 sch pt 2 (sec.19-ssec.1) This section applies to a person’s appointment to the office of member of the board or chairperson or deputy chairperson of the board. (sec.19-ssec.8) In this section— required period means the period stated in the appointment or otherwise agreed with the responsible Ministers. - (a) by way of remuneration as holder of the office; or - (b) in connection with retirement from the office or other ending of the office.
