### sec.35 Acting chief executive officer The board may appoint a person, who is eligible for appointment as chief executive officer, to act in the office of chief executive officer during— any vacancy, or all vacancies, in the office; or any period, or all periods, when the chief executive officer is absent from duty, or cannot, for another reason, perform the duties of the office.
