### sec.35 Acting chief executive officer
The board may appoint a person, who is eligible for appointment as chief executive officer, to act in the office of chief executive officer during—
any vacancy, or all vacancies, in the office; or
any period, or all periods, when the chief executive officer is absent from duty, or cannot, for another reason, perform the duties of the office.
Subsection (1) does not affect the application of the Acts Interpretation Act 1954 , section 24B or 25 for the appointment.

(sec.35-ssec.1) The board may appoint a person, who is eligible for appointment as chief executive officer, to act in the office of chief executive officer during— any vacancy, or all vacancies, in the office; or any period, or all periods, when the chief executive officer is absent from duty, or cannot, for another reason, perform the duties of the office.
