### sec.5I Casual vacancy The office of a member of a trust becomes vacant if any of the following happens— the member dies during the member’s term of office; the member resigns from office; for a member appointed by a local government—the local government removes the member from office; for a member appointed by the Minister—the Minister removes the member from office; for a member appointed by the Governor in Council—the Governor in Council removes the member from office. The office of a member of a trust who is a councillor of a local government also becomes vacant if the person’s term of office as councillor ends or the office as councillor otherwise becomes vacant. The office of a person who is the chairperson or deputy chairperson of a trust also becomes vacant if— the person resigns from the office; or the person is removed from the office under section 5L ; or the office of the person as a member of the trust becomes vacant under subsection (1) or (2) . s 5I ins 2013 No. 23 s 189 amd 2014 No. 64 s 27 (sec.5I-ssec.1) The office of a member of a trust becomes vacant if any of the following happens— the member dies during the member’s term of office; the member resigns from office; for a member appointed by a local government—the local government removes the member from office; for a member appointed by the Minister—the Minister removes the member from office; for a member appointed by the Governor in Council—the Governor in Council removes the member from office. (sec.5I-ssec.3) The office of a person who is the chairperson or deputy chairperson of a trust also becomes vacant if— the person resigns from the office; or the person is removed from the office under section 5L ; or the office of the person as a member of the trust becomes vacant under subsection (1) or (2) . - (a) the member dies during the member’s term of office; - (b) the member resigns from office; - (c) for a member appointed by a local government—the local government removes the member from office; - (d) for a member appointed by the Minister—the Minister removes the member from office; - (e) for a member appointed by the Governor in Council—the Governor in Council removes the member from office. - (a) the person resigns from the office; or - (b) the person is removed from the office under section 5L ; or - (c) the office of the person as a member of the trust becomes vacant under subsection (1) or (2) .
