### sec.5F Chairperson
A trust must elect one of its members appointed under section 5 (1) (b) as its chairperson—
at its first meeting; and
within 30 days after a vacancy in the office of chairperson.
However, if only 1 member of the trust has been appointed under section 5 (1) (b) , the Minister must appoint that member as the chairperson.
If the trust does not elect a chairperson under subsection (1) , the Minister may appoint a member appointed under section 5 (1) (b) as the chairperson.
The Governor in Council appoints the chairperson of the trust for a river improvement area as mentioned in section 5 (1A) .
