### sec.5D Investigations about eligibility for appointment
The chief executive may make investigations about a person to decide whether the person is eligible to be appointed as a member of the trust.
Without limiting subsection (1) , the chief executive may—
by written notice, ask the person for written consent for the chief executive to obtain a written report about the person’s criminal history; and
if the person gives the consent, ask the commissioner of the police service for a written report about the person’s criminal history.
The commissioner must give the requested report to the chief executive.
However, the report is required to contain only criminal history in the commissioner’s possession or to which the commissioner has access.

(sec.5D-ssec.1) The chief executive may make investigations about a person to decide whether the person is eligible to be appointed as a member of the trust.
(sec.5D-ssec.2) Without limiting subsection (1) , the chief executive may— by written notice, ask the person for written consent for the chief executive to obtain a written report about the person’s criminal history; and if the person gives the consent, ask the commissioner of the police service for a written report about the person’s criminal history.
(sec.5D-ssec.3) The commissioner must give the requested report to the chief executive.
