### sec.11C Requirement to comply with improvement notice
A person to whom an improvement notice applies must take all reasonable steps to comply with the notice while the notice is in force unless the person has a reasonable excuse.
Maximum penalty—
for a first offence—20 penalty units; or
for a second or later offence—100 penalty units.
Without limiting subsection (1) , for a person who is the occupier of relevant land for the improvement notice, it is a reasonable excuse that the person was not aware, and could not reasonably be expected to have become aware, of the existence of the notice.
