### sec.178 Failure to produce documents or attend proceedings
A person given notice under section 103 to—
give information; or
produce a document; or
attend before the information commissioner;
must not, without reasonable excuse, fail to do so.
Maximum penalty—100 penalty units.
If the person is an individual and is given notice to give information or produce a document, it is a reasonable excuse for the person to fail to give the information or produce the document if complying with the requirement might tend to incriminate the person or expose the person to a penalty.

(sec.178-ssec.1) A person given notice under section 103 to— give information; or produce a document; or attend before the information commissioner; must not, without reasonable excuse, fail to do so. Maximum penalty—100 penalty units.
(sec.178-ssec.2) If the person is an individual and is given notice to give information or produce a document, it is a reasonable excuse for the person to fail to give the information or produce the document if complying with the requirement might tend to incriminate the person or expose the person to a penalty.
