### sec.157 Stay of operation of original decision
An application under section 156 for review of a decision does not stay the decision.
However, before the decision takes effect, the chief executive may give the interested person a notice staying the operation of the decision for a stated period.
The stay may be granted on conditions the chief executive considers appropriate.
Also, whether or not the applicant has asked the chief executive to stay the operation of the decision, the applicant may apply to QCAT for a stay of the decision.
QCAT may stay the decision to secure the effectiveness of the review and any later review by QCAT.
The stay may be granted on conditions the tribunal considers appropriate and has effect for the period stated by QCAT.
The period of the stay must not extend past the time when the chief executive makes the review decision and any later period within which the applicant may apply to QCAT for a review of the review decision.
