### sec.28 Who may apply for regional interests development approval
An eligible person (the applicant ) may apply for a regional interests development approval for a resource activity to be carried out in an area of regional interest (an assessment application ).
Also, a person (also the applicant ) who intends to carry out a regulated activity in an area of regional interest may apply for a regional interests development approval for the activity to be carried out in the area (also an assessment application ).
In this section—
eligible person means a person who holds, or has applied or may apply for, an environmental authority or resource authority (the relevant authorities ) for the resource activity.
(sec.28-ssec.1) An eligible person (the applicant ) may apply for a regional interests development approval for a resource activity to be carried out in an area of regional interest (an assessment application ).
(sec.28-ssec.2) Also, a person (also the applicant ) who intends to carry out a regulated activity in an area of regional interest may apply for a regional interests development approval for the activity to be carried out in the area (also an assessment application ).
(sec.28-ssec.3) In this section— eligible person means a person who holds, or has applied or may apply for, an environmental authority or resource authority (the relevant authorities ) for the resource activity.
