### sec.17 Number plate identification requirements for vehicles
A person must not drive or ride a vehicle in a recreation area if—
a required number plate for the vehicle is not attached to the vehicle; or
any writing that identifies the vehicle on a required number plate for the vehicle is not clearly legible.
Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.
A person does not commit an offence against subsection (1) if the person has a reasonable excuse.
In this section—
required number plate , for a vehicle, means a number plate required to be attached to the vehicle under a vehicle registration Act to operate the vehicle on a road.
(sec.17-ssec.1) A person must not drive or ride a vehicle in a recreation area if— a required number plate for the vehicle is not attached to the vehicle; or any writing that identifies the vehicle on a required number plate for the vehicle is not clearly legible. Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.

- (a) a required number plate for the vehicle is not attached to the vehicle; or
