### sec.163 Power to stop persons
An authorised officer may require a person to stop, and not to move on until permitted by the officer, if the officer—
reasonably suspects the person is committing an offence against this Act; or
finds the person in circumstances that lead, or has information that leads, the officer to reasonably suspect the person has committed an offence against this Act.
The officer may require the person not to move on only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the officer to exercise the officer’s powers under this Act in relation to the person.
A person must comply with a requirement under subsection (1) , unless the person has a reasonable excuse.
Maximum penalty for subsection (3) —100 penalty units.
