### sec.137 Return of seized things
If a thing seized under section 127 is not forfeited under section 133 (2) , the inspector must return it to its owner at the end of the period of 90 days after the seizure.
If another seized thing is not forfeited, the inspector must return it to its owner—
at the end of 6 months; or
if a proceeding for an offence involving the thing is started within 6 months—at the end of the proceeding and any appeal from the proceeding.
Despite subsection (2) , unless the thing is forfeited, the inspector must immediately return a thing seized as evidence to its owner if the inspector stops being satisfied its continued retention as evidence is necessary.
