### sec.44 Ministerial direction to board about its functions or powers
The Minister may give the board a written direction about the performance of its functions or the exercise of its powers if the Minister is satisfied it is in the best interests of the Queensland racing industry to give the direction.
However, the Minister may not give the board a direction about any of the following—
the allocation of race days, and the provision of funding, to licensed clubs to hold race meetings;
the prize money for races held for a board code of racing;
stopping, restarting, rerunning, postponing or abandoning a race.
The board must comply with a direction given under subsection (1) .

(sec.44-ssec.1) The Minister may give the board a written direction about the performance of its functions or the exercise of its powers if the Minister is satisfied it is in the best interests of the Queensland racing industry to give the direction.
(sec.44-ssec.2) However, the Minister may not give the board a direction about any of the following— the allocation of race days, and the provision of funding, to licensed clubs to hold race meetings; the prize money for races held for a board code of racing; stopping, restarting, rerunning, postponing or abandoning a race.
(sec.44-ssec.3) The board must comply with a direction given under subsection (1) .
- (a) the allocation of race days, and the provision of funding, to licensed clubs to hold race meetings;
- (b) the prize money for races held for a board code of racing;
- (c) stopping, restarting, rerunning, postponing or abandoning a race.
