### sec.19 Casual vacancy If the office of a member, chairperson or deputy chairperson becomes vacant before the end of the member’s, chairperson’s or deputy chairperson’s term, the Governor in Council may appoint a person who is eligible to be appointed under section 14 , 17 or 17A to the board or to the office of chairperson or deputy chairperson. A person appointed under subsection (1) — completes the rest of the term of appointment of the member, chairperson or deputy chairperson that the person is replacing; and is eligible for reappointment at the end of the term stated in paragraph (a) . s 19 ins 2012 No. 42 s 11 amd 2016 No. 12 s 389 s ch 2 pt 1 ; 2026 No. 3 s 33F (sec.19-ssec.1) If the office of a member, chairperson or deputy chairperson becomes vacant before the end of the member’s, chairperson’s or deputy chairperson’s term, the Governor in Council may appoint a person who is eligible to be appointed under section 14 , 17 or 17A to the board or to the office of chairperson or deputy chairperson.
