### sec.19 Casual vacancy
If the office of a member, chairperson or deputy chairperson becomes vacant before the end of the member’s, chairperson’s or deputy chairperson’s term, the Governor in Council may appoint a person who is eligible to be appointed under section 14 , 17 or 17A to the board or to the office of chairperson or deputy chairperson.
A person appointed under subsection (1) —
completes the rest of the term of appointment of the member, chairperson or deputy chairperson that the person is replacing; and
is eligible for reappointment at the end of the term stated in paragraph (a) .

(sec.19-ssec.1) If the office of a member, chairperson or deputy chairperson becomes vacant before the end of the member’s, chairperson’s or deputy chairperson’s term, the Governor in Council may appoint a person who is eligible to be appointed under section 14 , 17 or 17A to the board or to the office of chairperson or deputy chairperson.
(sec.19-ssec.2) A person appointed under subsection (1) — completes the rest of the term of appointment of the member, chairperson or deputy chairperson that the person is replacing; and is eligible for reappointment at the end of the term stated in paragraph (a) .
- (a) completes the rest of the term of appointment of the member, chairperson or deputy chairperson that the person is replacing; and
- (b) is eligible for reappointment at the end of the term stated in paragraph (a) .
