### sec.127 Information requirement made by authority—general
The authority may, by notice, ask a relevant entity or other person to give the authority information, other than personal information, in the entity’s or person’s possession or control that the authority reasonably requires for the effective and efficient carrying out of the authority’s functions.
If the authority asks an entity or other person for information under this section, the entity or person must comply with the request.
Maximum penalty—100 penalty units.
For subsection (1) , information is not taken to be in the entity’s or person’s control merely because of an agreement between the entity or person (the first person ) and anyone else (the second person ) under which the second person must give the information to the first person.
This section does not limit section 126 .
In this section—
personal information means information or an opinion, including information or an opinion forming part of a database, whether true or not, about an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained from the information or opinion.
relevant entity means a government entity, GOC or local government.
