### sec.36 Provision of information by public sector unit to commission
Subsection (2) applies if the commission considers a department or other public sector unit has information the commission requires to perform its functions.
The commission may request the department or unit to provide the commission with the information within a stated reasonable time.
The department or unit must provide the information requested unless—
its disclosure is prohibited under an Act; or
it is impracticable to provide the information.
If the department or unit decides not to provide the information, the department or unit must advise the commission of its reasons for not providing the information.
The commission may enter into arrangements with a department or other public sector unit in relation to the provision by the department or unit of information that is required by the commission.
