### sec.140 Commissioner may reject or stay complaints dealt with elsewhere
The commissioner may reject or stay a complaint if—
there are concurrent proceedings in a court or tribunal in relation to the act or omission the subject of the complaint; or
the commissioner reasonably considers the act or omission that is the subject of the complaint may be effectively or conveniently dealt with by another entity.
The commissioner may also reject a complaint if the commissioner reasonably considers the act or omission the subject of the complaint has been adequately dealt with by another entity.
A time limit for doing anything under this Act in relation to a complaint does not run while a complaint is stayed.

(sec.140-ssec.1) The commissioner may reject or stay a complaint if— there are concurrent proceedings in a court or tribunal in relation to the act or omission the subject of the complaint; or the commissioner reasonably considers the act or omission that is the subject of the complaint may be effectively or conveniently dealt with by another entity.
(sec.140-ssec.2) The commissioner may also reject a complaint if the commissioner reasonably considers the act or omission the subject of the complaint has been adequately dealt with by another entity.
(sec.140-ssec.3) A time limit for doing anything under this Act in relation to a complaint does not run while a complaint is stayed.
- (a) there are concurrent proceedings in a court or tribunal in relation to the act or omission the subject of the complaint; or
- (b) the commissioner reasonably considers the act or omission that is the subject of the complaint may be effectively or conveniently dealt with by another entity.
