### sec.151 Casual employees
The chief executive of a public service entity may employ a person on a casual basis to perform work of a type ordinarily performed by—
an officer; or
a senior officer.
However, subsection (1) applies only if employment of a person on either of the following employment bases is not viable or appropriate—
a permanent basis;
a temporary basis for a fixed term.
A person employed under this section does not, only because of the employment, become a public service officer.
(sec.151-ssec.1) The chief executive of a public service entity may employ a person on a casual basis to perform work of a type ordinarily performed by— an officer; or a senior officer.
(sec.151-ssec.2) However, subsection (1) applies only if employment of a person on either of the following employment bases is not viable or appropriate— a permanent basis; a temporary basis for a fixed term.
(sec.151-ssec.3) A person employed under this section does not, only because of the employment, become a public service officer.
