### sec.149 General employees
The chief executive of a public service entity may employ a person (a general employee ) to perform work of a type not ordinarily performed by a public service officer.
The basis of employment may be—
permanent; or
temporary for a fixed term; or
casual.
Employment under subsection (2) (a) or (b) may be full-time or part-time.
A person employed under this section does not, only because of the employment, become a public service officer.
