### sec.8AZF What power to search or seize a digital device includes
Without limiting sections 8AZB and 8AZE (6) , the power under those sections to search or seize a thing that is a digital device includes a power to do any of the following—
use the device to gain access to device information from the device;
examine device information from the device to find out whether the information may be relevant to an emergency;
use another digital device to make a copy of device information from the device, or send the information to another digital device for the purpose of copying the information, if the information may be—
relevant to an emergency; or
evidence of an offence;
use the device to send a copy of device information from the device to a person if—
the information may be relevant to an emergency; and
the information is sent to the person for the purpose of managing or resolving the emergency.

- (a) use the device to gain access to device information from the device;
- (b) examine device information from the device to find out whether the information may be relevant to an emergency;
- (c) use another digital device to make a copy of device information from the device, or send the information to another digital device for the purpose of copying the information, if the information may be— (i) relevant to an emergency; or (ii) evidence of an offence;
- (i) relevant to an emergency; or
- (ii) evidence of an offence;
- (d) use the device to send a copy of device information from the device to a person if— (i) the information may be relevant to an emergency; and (ii) the information is sent to the person for the purpose of managing or resolving the emergency.
