### sec.44 Applications for renewal of licence
A licensee may apply to the local government that issued a licence for the renewal of the licence.
The application must be made within 60 days before the licence ends.
The application must comply with section 58 .
The local government must consider the application and renew, or refuse to renew, the licence.
In deciding whether to grant the application, the local government may have regard to—
whether, under section 35 , the applicant is a suitable person to hold the licence; and
whether, under section 36 , the premises at which higher risk personal appearance services are to be provided under the licence, if the application is granted, are suitable for providing the services; and
the results of inspections to monitor compliance with this Act during the current term of the licence.
If the local government decides to refuse to renew the licence, the local government must immediately give the licensee an information notice for the decision.
If the local government decides to impose conditions on the licence, the local government must immediately give the licensee an information notice for the decision.
A licence may be renewed by—
endorsing the existing licence; or
cancelling the existing licence and issuing another licence.
