### sec.98 Employment of persons in real estate business
A real estate agent must not employ, as a real estate salesperson, a person the agent knows, or ought to know, does not hold a registration certificate.
Maximum penalty—200 penalty units.
A real estate agent must not directly engage an independent contractor as a real estate salesperson unless the independent contractor holds a property agent licence.

A principal licensee who is an individual and carries on the business of a real estate agent must not employ, as a real estate salesperson for the business, himself or herself or another individual with whom the principal licensee carries on business as a real estate agent.

A principal licensee that is a corporation and carries on business as a real estate agent must not employ an executive officer of the corporation as a real estate salesperson for the business.

for an individual guilty under the Criminal Code , chapter 2 of an offence—200 penalty units; or
