### sec.20 Deciding application The board must consider an accepted application and either renew or refuse to renew the registration as soon as practicable after the last of the following events to happen— the board receives the application; the board receives all necessary information to decide the application. In deciding the application, the board must have regard to— whether the board considers the applicant is fit to practise as a registered professional engineer; and the extent, if any, to which the applicant has satisfied the continuing registration requirements. Also, for an application for renewal of registration as a non-practising professional engineer, the board must be satisfied the applicant will not carry out, or be responsible for the carrying out of, professional engineering services within the registration period to which the application relates. In considering whether an applicant is fit to practise as a registered professional engineer, the board may have regard to the same matters to which the board may have regard in deciding whether an applicant for registration is fit to practise as a registered professional engineer. For the matters the board may have regard to in deciding if an applicant for registration is fit to practise as a registered professional engineer, see section 11 . In this section— accepted application means an application made under section 18 (2) or an application the board accepts under section 18 (4) . s 20 amd 2008 No. 14 s 31 ; 2014 No. 56 s 8 (sec.20-ssec.1) The board must consider an accepted application and either renew or refuse to renew the registration as soon as practicable after the last of the following events to happen— the board receives the application; the board receives all necessary information to decide the application. (sec.20-ssec.3) Also, for an application for renewal of registration as a non-practising professional engineer, the board must be satisfied the applicant will not carry out, or be responsible for the carrying out of, professional engineering services within the registration period to which the application relates. (sec.20-ssec.4) In considering whether an applicant is fit to practise as a registered professional engineer, the board may have regard to the same matters to which the board may have regard in deciding whether an applicant for registration is fit to practise as a registered professional engineer.
