### sec.797 Helping during declaration of emergency under Corrective Services Act 2006
This section applies if a police officer is authorised by the chief executive (corrective services) to perform a function or exercise a power of a corrective services officer under the Corrective Services Act 2006 while a corrective services emergency declaration is in force.
It is the duty of the police officer to perform the function or exercise the power while the corrective services emergency declaration is in force.
The police officer must perform the function or exercise the power under the direction of the senior police officer present at the prison for which the corrective services emergency declaration is in force.
In this section—
corrective services emergency declaration means a declaration made under the Corrective Services Act 2006 , section 271B .

(sec.797-ssec.1) This section applies if a police officer is authorised by the chief executive (corrective services) to perform a function or exercise a power of a corrective services officer under the Corrective Services Act 2006 while a corrective services emergency declaration is in force.
(sec.797-ssec.2) It is the duty of the police officer to perform the function or exercise the power while the corrective services emergency declaration is in force.
(sec.797-ssec.3) The police officer must perform the function or exercise the power under the direction of the senior police officer present at the prison for which the corrective services emergency declaration is in force.
(sec.797-ssec.4) In this section— corrective services emergency declaration means a declaration made under the Corrective Services Act 2006 , section 271B .
