### sec.497 Commissioner may authorise police officer to perform non-medical examinations
The commissioner may authorise a police officer to perform non-medical examinations.
However, the commissioner may authorise a police officer only if the commissioner is satisfied the police officer—
has the necessary experience or expertise to be able to perform the examinations; or
has satisfactorily completed a course of training approved by the commissioner for the purpose.

(sec.497-ssec.1) The commissioner may authorise a police officer to perform non-medical examinations.
(sec.497-ssec.2) However, the commissioner may authorise a police officer only if the commissioner is satisfied the police officer— has the necessary experience or expertise to be able to perform the examinations; or has satisfactorily completed a course of training approved by the commissioner for the purpose.
- (a) has the necessary experience or expertise to be able to perform the examinations; or
- (b) has satisfactorily completed a course of training approved by the commissioner for the purpose.
