### sec.476 Commissioner may authorise police officers to take DNA samples The commissioner may authorise a police officer to take DNA samples. However, the commissioner may authorise a police officer only if the commissioner is satisfied the police officer— has the necessary experience or expertise to be able to take the samples; or has satisfactorily completed a course of training approved by the commissioner for the purpose. s 476 ins 2000 No. 22 s 18 sub 2003 No. 49 s 10 (sec.476-ssec.1) The commissioner may authorise a police officer to take DNA samples.
