### sec.237 Committee recommendations
After considering an application and any other relevant material referred to it by a chief executive officer, the committee may recommend that the officer grant or refuse to grant authority for a particular controlled operation.
However, the committee may recommend the grant of authority for a controlled operation only if satisfied, having regard to the nature and seriousness of a relevant offence to which the application relates, it is appropriate for persons to engage in controlled conduct for any of the following purposes—
obtaining evidence that may lead to the conviction of a person for the offence;
frustrating the commission of the offence.

(sec.237-ssec.1) After considering an application and any other relevant material referred to it by a chief executive officer, the committee may recommend that the officer grant or refuse to grant authority for a particular controlled operation.
(sec.237-ssec.2) However, the committee may recommend the grant of authority for a controlled operation only if satisfied, having regard to the nature and seriousness of a relevant offence to which the application relates, it is appropriate for persons to engage in controlled conduct for any of the following purposes— obtaining evidence that may lead to the conviction of a person for the offence; frustrating the commission of the offence.
- (a) obtaining evidence that may lead to the conviction of a person for the offence;
- (b) frustrating the commission of the offence.
