### sec.21 General power to enter to arrest or detain someone or enforce warrant
A police officer may enter a place and stay for a reasonable time on the place—
to arrest a person without warrant; or
to arrest a person named in a warrant; or
to detain a person named in a forensic procedure order or a registered corresponding forensic procedure order; or
to detain a person who may be detained under an order made under section 471 , 484 , 485 , 488 or 514 ; or
to detain a person under another Act.

If the place contains a dwelling, a police officer may enter the dwelling without the consent of the occupier to arrest or detain a person only if the police officer reasonably suspects the person to be arrested or detained is at the dwelling.
If the place is a vehicle, a police officer may stop and detain the vehicle and enter it to arrest or detain the person.
A police officer who enters a place under this section may search the place for the person.
In this section—
arrest , a person named in a warrant, includes apprehend, take into custody, detain, and remove to another place for examination or treatment.
