### sec.96 Ministerial direction to apply for petroleum lease The Minister may give the authority holder a notice stating each of the following— that the Minister proposes to do either of the following, (the proposed action ) unless the holder has made an appropriate lease application— excise a stated area from the area of the authority; cancel the authority; the grounds for the proposed action; the facts and circumstances forming the basis for the grounds; that the holder may, within a stated period, lodge submissions about why the holder should not make a petroleum lease application for the stated area. The stated period must be reasonable, but must not be more than 6 months.
