### sec.737 Appointment conditions and limit on powers
A person who is an inspector or authorised officer holds office on any conditions stated in—
the person’s instrument of appointment; or
a signed notice given to the person.
The instrument of appointment, a signed notice given to the person or a regulation may limit the person’s functions or powers under this Act for the office.
An inspector is also subject to the directions of the chief inspector in exercising the functions or powers.
In this section—
signed notice means a notice signed by—
for the chief inspector—the CEO; or
for another inspector—the chief inspector; or
for an authorised officer (safety and health)—the CEO; or
for an authorised officer (general)—the chief executive.
