### sec.716 Board’s powers for inquiry
A board of inquiry, in conducting its inquiry, may if it considers it appropriate—
act in the absence of a person given notice of the inquiry or some other reasonable notice; and
receive evidence on oath or by statutory declaration; and
adjourn the inquiry; and
disregard a defect, error, omission or insufficiency in a document.
The chairperson of the board may administer an oath to a person appearing as a witness before the inquiry.
