### sec.9B Law practice certificate not given
This section applies if—
the supervising principal of a law practice in relation to a claim fails to give a law practice certificate to the claimant as required under section 8C ; and
because of the principal’s failure, the claimant—
can not comply with the requirements of section 9 (2) within the period mentioned in section 9 (3) or 9A (9) (b) ; and
terminates in writing the engagement of the law practice to act for the claimant in relation to the claim.
The principal—
must, within 14 days after the termination, refund to the claimant all fees and costs, including disbursements, paid by the claimant in relation to the claim; and
can not charge or recover from the claimant any further fees and costs in relation to the claim.
In this section—
claimant includes a potential claimant.

(sec.9B-ssec.1) This section applies if— the supervising principal of a law practice in relation to a claim fails to give a law practice certificate to the claimant as required under section 8C ; and because of the principal’s failure, the claimant— can not comply with the requirements of section 9 (2) within the period mentioned in section 9 (3) or 9A (9) (b) ; and terminates in writing the engagement of the law practice to act for the claimant in relation to the claim.
(sec.9B-ssec.2) The principal— must, within 14 days after the termination, refund to the claimant all fees and costs, including disbursements, paid by the claimant in relation to the claim; and can not charge or recover from the claimant any further fees and costs in relation to the claim.
(sec.9B-ssec.3) In this section— claimant includes a potential claimant.
