### sec.61 Supervising principal must complete law practice certificate on settlement or judgment
This section applies if—
a law practice is retained by a claimant to act in relation to the claimant’s claim; and
either—
the claimant or the respondent accepts, in writing, an offer, or counter offer, of settlement; or
judgment is given on the claim.
The supervising principal of the law practice in relation to the claim must—
complete a law practice certificate for the claim as soon as practicable after the offer or counter offer is accepted or judgment is given; and
within 7 days after the acceptance or judgment, give the certificate to the respondent and a copy of the certificate to—
the claimant; and
if the respondent’s insurer has responded to part 1 of the claimant’s notice of claim, or the respondent has given details of the respondent’s insurer to the claimant—the respondent’s insurer.
Maximum penalty—300 penalty units.
