### sec.161Z Control order to be explained
Before making a control order for an offender, the court must explain, or cause to be explained, to the offender—
the purpose and effect of the order; and
what may follow if the offender contravenes the order; and
that the order may be amended or revoked on the application of the offender, a Crown prosecutor, a senior police officer or an authorised corrective services officer.
The explanation must be made in language or in a way likely to be readily understood by the offender.

(sec.161Z-ssec.1) Before making a control order for an offender, the court must explain, or cause to be explained, to the offender— the purpose and effect of the order; and what may follow if the offender contravenes the order; and that the order may be amended or revoked on the application of the offender, a Crown prosecutor, a senior police officer or an authorised corrective services officer.
(sec.161Z-ssec.2) The explanation must be made in language or in a way likely to be readily understood by the offender.
- (a) the purpose and effect of the order; and
- (b) what may follow if the offender contravenes the order; and
- (c) that the order may be amended or revoked on the application of the offender, a Crown prosecutor, a senior police officer or an authorised corrective services officer.
